Canadian Literature called The Man with the Dancing Monkey, her book of poetry, “an important first book”, and a “dynamic collection”, saying Barbara “has the eye of a landscape artist and the soul of a naturalist.” This book was shortlisted for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award and the Pat Lowther Memorial Award.
