Barbara Curry Mulcahy writes poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and drama.
Barbara’s book of poetry The Man with Dancing Monkey (Wolsak & Wynn, Toronto, 1997) was shortlisted for the Pat Lowther Memorial Award and the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award. Her poems have appeared in the anthologies The Dominion of Love: an anthology of Canadian love poetry, Body Language: a head-to-toe anthology, and 200% Cracked Wheat. Her poems have been published in literary magazines and online. They have also been broadcast on the CBC.
Barbara’s short stories have been published in the anthologies The Road Home and Boundless Alberta and in literary magazines.
Her radio play Bird on a Branch was one of 3 winners of the CBC 5th Annual Alberta Write for Radio Competition. It was broadcast on CBC Radio.
Barbara writes for The Valley Voice. In the past she wrote a column on senior health for Our Health. Her book reviews have been published in the Edmonton Journal and AlbertaViews.
